Service FAQ
Straight answers to the questions service managers ask us first. Each answer links to the page it comes from.
What is DealerSource AI?
DealerSource AI builds practical AI-powered dealership solutions, guided by real dealership experience and made for the way a store actually runs. We're starting in the service department, and other areas of the dealership are planned for later.

What can a store use today?
Twelve areas of the service department, one clear job each. Four are in early testing on sample data with our first pilot dealership. The other eight are coming soon.

Which four areas are in early testing?
Appointment Reminders & No-Shows, Warranty Claims, Training & Certification Tracking, and Email Management.

What do the coming-soon areas need?
They need a connection to your DMS (dealer management system). Service Advisor Intake also needs phone and text service, which we haven't launched. We set up any connection to your store's systems one store at a time, and only with your store's written OK.

Is anything connected to our systems today?
No connection to a store's DMS is set up yet. Any connection is set up one store at a time, and only with your store's written OK. Warranty Claims, for example, is designed to work from claim paperwork the store sends in, and it doesn't connect to manufacturer warranty portals.

Does anything go out to our customers without our OK?
No. Nothing goes out without the store's OK. Customer messages go out only after your store approves the wording, and each store names a main approver for customer messages plus one backup.

When does a person step in?
Every area is built to hand off to a person when it should. Upset customers, safety questions, and judgment calls go to your people.

Will customers know they're talking with AI?
Yes. Service Advisor Intake is designed to tell customers up front that they're talking with an AI assistant, and to offer a person early in the conversation. It's coming soon and isn't available yet.

Can it text our customers?
Not yet. Areas that message customers start with email. Text messages come later, once we launch a text service.

Does it decide anything for our people?
No. Each area has one narrow job, and your people make the calls. For example, Tech Scheduling suggests and the shop foreman decides, and Parts Ordering never places an order without a person's approval.

Why do the samples use made-up names?
Sample screens on our site use fictional data, and photos are illustrations, not real dealerships or customers.

How does pricing work?
Every store is different, so we price each store after a scoping call about the areas you want, the systems you use, and how your service lane runs. There's no price list on the site, on purpose.

Does DealerSource AI cover more than service?
Yes, that is the plan. Service is where we're starting, and other areas of the dealership are planned for later.

What about recon and video inspection?
Two new areas: one for getting used vehicles ready to sell, and one for clearer, video-based inspections in the service lane. Both are new and in development, and we're not offering them to stores yet.

How do we become a partner dealership?
We're starting with a small, invite-only group of dealerships, and we'll add more as we have the capacity. If you'd like your dealership considered, tell us a little about your store.
